Q. Is Tuff Girl Fitness for everyone?
A. Yes and No.
While you don’t have to be an athlete, experienced lifter or “in shape” to train at Tuff Girl Fitness, you need to have determination, a sense of purpose, and a strong will to give your absolute best every training session. Training at Tuff Girl Fitness is not comfortable, and some people won’t be willing to give what we ask for.
If you don’t want to be pushed, we are not the place for you. If you hate muscles, you shouldn’t show up. If you hate working hard, we are not the gym for you. If you are not going to give your best, stay home. Maybe that seems harsh, but this journey is not easy. And if you want results, you have to train like it.
Q. What can I expect during a training session?
A. There are no fillers at Tuff Girl Fitness; everything you do has one purpose: to make you fit, lean, strong, athletic and confident.
Each training session begins with a warm-up consisting of dynamic mobility movements, followed by a brief workout instruction and coaching session, and then the best part–25-35 minutes of intense strength/metabolic training. We finish each session with a cool down and stretching. You will use heavy weights, TRX, medicine balls, jump ropes, heavy bags, battle ropes, resistance bands, your own bodyweight, and many other tools that ensure you get the most out of your workout.
Q. How long are classes?
A. Classes are 50-60 minutes depending on the training.
Q. How many clients are in a class?
A. All classes have a 30-person limit.
Due to these limitations, registration is required for every class and we do not allow drop-ins.
Q. Do you offer any discounts?
A. No. Price is only an issue in the absence of value.

Q. What is your schedule?

Q. What do I need to bring?
A. Tuff Girl Fitness provides all the equipment you need. Bring plenty of water, a towel if you wish, and proper training shoes. We suggest flat soled training shoes known as “minimalist” shoes. Several manufactures, such as Nike, Reebok and New Balance, have minimalist options. “Toning” shoes of any kind are not allowed in the gym.
Q. Where does training take place?
A. Training takes place at Bodyology, the 4700 square foot, privately owned facility run by fitness coaches Mike & Christa Doran. We have two bathrooms and a changing room. There are no shower facilities at Bodyology.
We can be found behind the Bed Bath and Beyond/CVS plaza off Dixwell Ave at 60 Connolly Parkway, #6A, Hamden, CT.
Before making any decisions, we invite all potential clients to take advantage of a complimentary class, in which you participate in a training session to experience our gym under a trainer’s guidance. This will give you an opportunity to meet the coaches, speak with other clients and get a feel for what we do.
Q. How do I get started?
1. Create a profile on our MINDBODY Online Scheduler.

2. Once profile has been created please email me , Click HERE, so I can add one complimentary trial class onto your account. Please allow 24-48 hours for the class to be added to your account.
3. Please arrive on time or early to class. If you arrive after the warm is complete you will not be allowed into class.
4. If you add your name to a class with a wait list you will be notified via email at least 4 hours prior to the start of class if you got in. If you do not receive an email, you did not get added to class.
5. Bodyology has a 4 hour cancellation policy. You have up to 4 hours before class starts to remove your name from the class list and get that class back. If you remove your name after this period you will be charged for class. Complimentary trial classes are included in this policy. We do not give more than one trial class per guest.

Please arrive on time. When members arrive late to class it is distracting to the instructor and to the members. If you arrive after the warm is complete you will not be allowed into class. This is usually five minutes after the start of class.
Please wear proper footwear. Toning shoes of any kind are not allowed. We recommend easing into a minimalist training shoe like the Nike Free, New Balance Minimus, or Vibram Five-Fingers.
We have a four-hour cancellation policy. You have up to 4 hours before class starts to remove your name from the class list and get that class back.
If you remove your name after this period you will be charged for class.
Class passes are non-transferrable and expire two years from the date of purchase. We do not refund for unused classes.
Monthly plans require automatic payment. You are able to schedule as many classes as you paid for within your payment month. You get your new set of monthly classes after payment processes on your payment date. We do not reimburse for unused classes. Classes expire after 30 days with monthly plans. You must provide 7 days notice via email to cancel your current plan.
